Learn African Drumming from Diwele Lubi. African drumming is cool, the
drums are big, bold and noisy, giving people a voice that they associate with dance and trance rhythms. Yes you can learn to play an African drum in one 45
minute workshop and then afterwards sign up to play in the 80 piece drum band (drums provided) that will lead the Queens Diamond Jubilee Carnival Parade
around Haslemere on Monday June 4th. Wow what a spectacle.
Sunday in the Marquee sees a Poetry Slam competition taking place between students from Bohunt and Woolmer Hill Schools.
What is a poetry slam you ask. Simply put, poetry slam is the competitive art of performance poetry. It puts a dual emphasis on writing and performance,
encouraging poets to focus on what they're saying and how they're saying it. Poets will perform their work and will then be judged by members of the
audience.
