Film

FilmAn exciting film element is being added to the Fringe Festival for 2012. Director of film, Neil Bradley, is co-ordinating a week long programme of cinematic offerings that examine the theme of regional and national identity. Films shown will encompass a broad range of examples from silent, foreign, and lesser known more art house pieces, as well as some more 'classic' movies that examine our place in the world and our reactions to it.

The theme is an accompaniment to the filmic history of Haslemere, which is currently being compiled and will be previewed at the Charter Fair in May. Neil is also launching a short film competition, offering a local filmmakers (experienced or novices) a chance for the public to view their filmic interpretations of life in Haslemere and surrounds. The idea is to by create an ongoing living film archive that will reflect changing life in the area for future generations to enjoy.
