The mini village of teepees and yurts will this year be enhanced by colourful Indian
Tents. A real place to explore, relax and enjoy.
In true Festival fashion and adding to the village atmosphere, there will be a
superb selection of stalls selling local produce and crafts, yummy food stalls, a festival bar and terrific live entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
Visit the Vintage Village and buy a part of History. Brought to you by
Vintage Clothing Experts, The Haslemere Wardrobe.
New for this year will be a Countryside Corner, where demonstrations of that art of the
Blacksmith can be seen, together with people demonstrating woodland skills. These will include wood turning using pole lathes, making Besom Brooms and
walking sticks, hurdle making and willow weaving. Industries that were prevalent in and around Haslemere in past times.
And for now something completely different, we now have our very own Strong Man
Competition being managed by Muscle, Inc of Haslemere. On Saturday at 12:00 noon, there will be a three hour Team Strong Man Competition and then on Sunday
at 12:00 noon there will be a three hour Novice Strong Man Competition. Come and see these incredible athletes carry out feats of strength that most of us
can only dream about".
Come with your children and enjoy listening to stories in the beautiful
and exotic settings of the yurt, teepees and Indian Tents. Stories will be told by The Surrey Guild of Story Tellers in association with Red Phoenix, who
are passionate about the art of storytelling.
On Monday 4th June, Lion Green will come alive to the sound of people celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, a once in a lifetime opportunity to
celebrate such an event. There will be live music on the Festival stage from 12:00 noon and you will be dancing to your favourite music from the 50s, 60s,
70s and other decades from Queen's reign, with the Upbeat Beatles leading the charge!
A Jubilee Carnival Procession will leave High Lane at approx 2:00PM and wind its way through Haslemere to Lion Green. When it arrives, there will be a
jubilee picnic provided for up to 3000 people. We have even requested a fly past from the Red Arrows over Lion Green at that time.
The stalls and attractions from the previous two days of the Fringe Festival will still be in place, so there will be plenty to see and do. For more
information about Haslemere's Diamond Jubilee celebration see: www.haslemere.com/jubilee.
Once again, come and practise Yoga in the Marquee. Yoga is beneficial for all, whatever your level of fitness and ability, tones your muscles and helps keep the body flexible - why not give it a try!
As more attractions and entertainment are booked, there will be more to tell about the Fringe Village and the rest of the Fringe Festival. If you would like regular updates, please use the link on the Contact Us page and we will inform you when updates have been made.
