Ever since his first No 1 album ‘Hand Built By Robots’ hit the music world Newton Faulkner has been astounding audiences with his percussive guitar led songs that touch on everyday life, love and challenges with thought provoking lyrics.

Six further hit albums followed along with a number of EP’s, plus the first greatest hits album for this innovative artist from Reigate in Surrey.

Newton will be touring the UK this year and the Haslemere Fringe Festival offers fans the chance to see him again in Surrey and join thousands of visitors who come to one of the South of England’s best known festivals.

Festival Director, Paul Ashton says, “We are so excited to have an artist of Newton’s quality as part of the 2020 Fringe and he will be closing the Festival on the Saturday night in stunning style.  I’m sure his many fans in the South will want to see him playing live, outdoors on a Summer night at this unique and special event.”

Other Haslemere Fringe Festival headliners include worldwide superstar Sophie Ellis Bextor closing the festival on Sunday 5th of July. Her unique vocal style and superb stage presence have brought her international success and to end Friday night at the festival Britpop favourites Sleeper will bring their multiple hits and cheeky lyrics and style to the end of the day.

More names are due to be announced for the festival, including amazing local artists and bands who are a vital part of this local event which sees over 50 bands performing to over 10,000 people over the 3 day event.

Working with ‘Love Haslemere, Hate Waste’ the festival is also committed to reducing waste with various initiatives included re-usable plastic cups, recycling bins and collection of any waste to be used in the most sustainable way possible.

ABOUT HASLEMERE FRINGE FESTIVAL:
Haslemere Fringe Festival is a volunteer led event supported by local schools and youth clubs and local businesses including The Herald Newspaper Group, BBC Surrey and Wey Valley Radio.

Running from Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th July and held on Lion Green in the centre of Haslemere and features a number of stages with something for audiences of all ages, celebrating live music, comedy, dance, poetry and children’s activities.

Past years have included British stars ‘Scouting for Girls’ and soul legends ‘The Real Thing’.
